Life Skills Workshop at Cambridge International School, Dasuya

A Workshop on Life skills, Self Esteem, sexual abuse awareness, HIV/AIDS-Basic Introduction, transmission, substance abuse-Basic facts and peer pressure was held for students of grade 9 and 10 in MPH on 18th Dec,2009 by Dr. Pushpinder Singh Medical Surgeon in Ludhiana and CBSE Resource person for Adolescence Education Programme and by Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, Animal Gynecologist posted at Bhani Mian Khan. The Student were asked to fill a pre-questioner before the arrival of the resource persons. The workshop started at 10:30 am. The First session a power point presentation and explaining importance of positive thinking and Self Esteem. The meaning and use of Life Skills was also explained.

In the Second session, sexual abuse awareness, resisting peer pressure and Adolescent concerns were taken up with the girls of grade 8,9, and 10th. In the AVR by Dr. Pushpinder Singh and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh guided boys of grade 8,9 and 10 about Substance Abuse and its prevention in MPH.

In the third session, all students gathered in the MPH and were delivered into 12 groups for role-play. The topic which was given on a slip to each group was performed well and it seemed that message that the message of the workshop has been successfully imparted to our young Cambrians. The workshop came to an end at 2:30PM

ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਡਾ: ਪੁਸ਼ਪਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸਟੇਟ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਡਾ: ਲਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਿਤੀ 18 ਦਸੰਬਰ, 2009 ਨੂੰ ਕੈਂਬਰਿਜ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ 9ਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ 10ਵੀਂ ਗਰੇਡ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ Life Skill, Self esteem, Sexual Abuse awareness, HIV/AIDS-Basic introduction, transmission and prevention ਤੇ workshop ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਸਵੇਰੇ 10.30 ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਾ: ਪੁਸ਼ਪਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਆਰਾ Self esteem ਅਤੇ Life Skills ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ Power Point Presentation ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਵੈ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ, ਆਸ਼ਾਵਾਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ: ਪੁਸ਼ਪਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ: ਲਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ Sexual Abuse, Peer Pressure ਅਤੇ Adolescent Education ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਤੀਸਰੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ੧੨ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸਲਿਪ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਕੀਤਾ ।
