Seminar on - Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji? an emblem of gurbani and sacrifice

The 5th Seminar in the series of seminar dedicated to the 4th centenary martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji was held at Academy of Sikh Religion, Patiala. The theme of this seminar

was-? Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji? an emblem of gurbani and sacrifice? . Formar Jathedar of Sri Akaal Takht Sahib, Prof. Manjit Singh inaugurated this seminar. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Guru Arjan Dev ji was an original thinker, an illustrious poet, a practical philosopher, an eminent statesman and the first martyr of the faith. He completely changed the external aspect of Sikhism. He said that Guru ji? s greatest contributions were establishment of Sri Harmandar Sahib and compilation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa was the chief guest on this occasion. He voiced that Guru ji sacrificed his life to stand by the truth and his martyrdom is an unique example of endurance, equanimity and self-respect.

Dr. Charan Kamal Singh, Chief Secretary, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle concluded the seminar. He said that only the light of heavens can provide requisite illumination to the Golden letters in which holy accomplishments of Divine Guru Arjan Dev ji can be befittingly penned down. It is very difficult to judge the immensity, depth and unlimited magnitude of Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji? s grace, compassion, mercy and sacrifice. Principal Ram Singh ji expressed his gratefulness to all present for being a part of this seminar. S. Anurag Singh, Dr. Ravi Bhushan, S. Inderpal Singh, Deputy Chief Organisor, S. Labh Singh, S.Surinderpal Sidqi, S. Karnail Singh, S. Mewa Singh, Dr. Kuldip Singh, Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Dr. Brijpal Singh and Bhai Ashok Singh Gabria were also present at this time.
