Seminar on - The Peace Within

Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle organised a seminar on the theme of "The Peace Within" at Guru Nanak Engineering College, Ludhiana dedicated to the 4th Centenary

of Martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Jathedar Gurmail Singh Sangowal, Member Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee presided over the seminar. Addressing the congregation, he said that all the upcoming Sikh centenaries, with association of other Sikh organisations, will be celebrated on a large scale and centenary celebration will continue for the entire year. Dr. D.S. Bains, Vice Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University, Ludhiana was chief guest on this occasion.

Prin. Prabhjot Kaur, while presenting her article on the subject said that self discipline is most important factor for peace. She told that performing one's duty with responsibility while meditating the name of almighty "GOD" manifests the mystery of the "Peace". Dr. Surinderbir Singh presented the key note address. Dr. Pushpinder Singh presented the slide show explaining the significance of "Kirat" (Hardwork) as illustrated by the "Sikh Gurus". He emphasized that all the Sikh Gurus stressed on hard work and peace can only be attained if the money we are earning comes from true means. Unearned wealth can never provide contentment.

Dr. Charan Kamal Singh, Chief Secretary, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, said that we should evaluate one? s actions daily and find out the weakness in one self and keep a check on other evils residing within us. A book written by Prin. Ram Singh, Chief Organisor, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle on Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji titled "Shant Mahan Suraj" has been released on this occasion.
