Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Udhampur observed 31st May, 2006 as "INTERNATIONAL NO TOBACCO DAY" at Goverdhan Palace Udhampur. Hon'ble M.L.A Udhampur Sh. Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest and Chief Education Officer Udhampur Sh. Viney Mohan Raina, presided over the function. Dr. Charan Kamal Singh, Chief Secretary, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle was the Guest of honour on the occasion, . The function was organized by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Udhampur with collaboration of the owner of Shree Goverdhan Palace Udhampur and Navrimg" Theatre People Udhampur and the prizes' were sponsored by Chief Manager State Bank of India Udhampur, Sh. K.S. Jamwal.

The students of National Academy Udhampur presented a welcome song and Shabad before the audience. The main attraction' of the function was the "Rangla Punjab and Phoolkari Bhangra" presented by Navrang Theater People Udhampur and appreciated by all the audience. Sabrang party of Kathua presented a skit on Anti Drugs which was also appreciated by the audience. Chef Education Officer Udhampur instructed his subordinates not to smoke in the office and stressed upon the students not to take any drugs and chutki which has become a fashion nowadays.

Dr. Charan Kamal Singh Chief Secretary of the organization stressed upon the teachers to educate the students and caution them about the deadly effects of the smoke and drugs which has become fashion in the society. He said "HEALTH IS WEALTH' has to be inculcated in the minds of the taught. Only healthy people can form a healthy Nation to ensure progress and prosperity. He also called upon the teachers and principals of the different schools and asked them to educate students and give more awareness to the students and society by doing these anti drugs functions. Chief guests Sh. Balwant Singh Mankotia and Chief Education Officer Udhampur were honored by Dr. Charan Kamal Singh. Sh. Balwant Singh Mankotia distributed the prizes among the students who participated in the painting competitions which were organized by GGSSC Udhampur on 28. 05. 2006.

Miss Ruchika Bhatiyalof B.B.S.V.P., Vijay Kumar of Govt city high school Udhampur (Boys) and Miss Sangeeta Shan of Bhartiya Vidhiya Mandir .bagged first, second & third positions in U/17yrs of age group. In U/14yrs of age group, Ravees from Amba Kids Panthal, Miss Priya Rani from JK Public Hr. Sec. School Udhampur & Pawan Kumar ITom New Era Hr. Sec. School UdhaIripur bagged 1st; 2nd & 3cd positions.
